I can’t believe how quickly the holidays passed and now it’s already 2018! Well, new year, new home projects and goals, right? We’ve been getting ready for our master bathroom remodel, so for the past few months, we’ve been busy coming up with a new design and doing lots of shopping to prep for the renovation!
Luckily, we were able to score some great Black Friday deals, so now our basement has been taken over by boxes and boxes of new bathroom supplies while we patiently wait for our tiles to arrive so we can finally get started!
While we have all the major items picked out – floor and wall tile, vanity, shower, tub, and toilet, now it’s time for the details. And we all know that it’s the finishing touches that matter the most in bringing everything together.
One of those important details is lighting, which makes a whole world of difference. With so many different lighting fixtures and options out there – over the mirror, wall sconce, chandeliers, pendants, accent lighting, etc. – picking the right lighting is a mini project on its own and can easily get overwhelming.
Since we’re going for a modern glam look, we’ve been looking for lighting that brings the right amount of sexiness and glamour while still keeping the overall look clean and simple.
While searching for the perfect lighting for our bathroom, I wanted to compile a list of some drool worthy modern bathroom lighting ideas that I came across, hopefully to provide some inspiration for your own bathroom makeover!
Over the Mirror
Over the mirror lighting is probably the most common and popular. But that doesn’t mean you can’t get creative. From strip lights to light bars, the options are endless! You can even use wall sconces over the mirror, there really aren’t any rules, so be creative!
Wall sconces are like mirror accessories, and a great alternative to over the mirror light fixtures if you want to try something different.
Pendant lights are a great option when you don’t have a lot of wall space. Plus they’re so versatile, whether you want a pair, just one, or even a cluster over a bathtub.
Who doesn’t like a little bling? Chandeliers are the perfect way to jazz up your bathroom for an instant lux feel.
Adding some accent lighting behind the mirror or underneath the cabinets can really help set the mood with an indirect warm glow, whether you’re going for the ultimate bachelor pad look or opting for a spa-like zen feel.
